Govt committed to welfare of poor, Dalits and women: HP CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the government was committed to work for the welfare of the poor, Dalits, women and backward sections of the society.
Addressing a public meeting at Bajaura today, he said, "The welfare of these people is always the priority of the state government. Several welfare schemes have been announced in the budget."

"Congress leaders should see the change that has come in the state after our government took charge," he said.
Sharpening his attack on the previous regime in the state, he said during Congress' rule, the law and order situation had deteriorated to a deplorable level.
Meanwhile, he said a Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawan would soon be constructed in all the assembly constituencies. PTI PCL

Himachal chief ministers Jai Ram Thakur today ridiculed the Congress party for seeking accountability from the BJP government and party MPs and asked the Congress leaders to do introspection.
Addressing a public meeting at Bajaura during his maiden visit to Kullu district, chief minister said that the Congress leaders should see the change which have come after the BJP government took over and developmental activities and initiatives gained momentum.
He said that welfare of women, youth, poor, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes was the priority of the State Government and several welfare schemes have been announced in the budget, focusing on welfare of these sections.
The Chief Minister said that not even a single day had passed since the present State Government assumed office that a decision was not taken for the welfare of the people. He said that the Government was working with a set target and it was the matter of satisfaction that 100 days in office witnessed unprecedented development.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the law and order situation in the State had collapsed, during the previous regime and drug mafia, mining mafia and transfer mafia were ruling during the tenure of previous Government and the present Government launched Gudiya Help Line and Shakti Help Button for ensuring safety of women and Hoshiyar Singh Helpline for checking various illegal activities like illegal mining, drug peddling etc.
He said that Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawan would be constructed in all the Assembly constituencies of the State to facilitate people to organise social and religious functions and Dham(community lunch) . He said that provision of Rs 30 lakh has been made for this in each Assembly constituency for this purpose.
The Chief Minister announced Rs. 3.70 crore for Nature Learning Centre Banjar, Rs. 30 lakh for Lok Bhawan and Rs. 15 lakh for additional Lok Bhawan in the constituency. He also announced Rs. 20 lakh for Panarsa-Dalasha road, Rs. 10 lakh for construction of Sanan Ghat and Rs. five lakh each for construction of Sarai in Balak Nath and Mahunag temples.
He laid foundation stone of lift irrigation scheme to Reri Mashgan at Sarabai to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 231.30 lakh.
He also inaugurated the 33 KV Sub Station at Sarabai constructed at a cost of Rs. 337.32 lakh and laid foundation stones of Interpretation Centre of GHNP to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.20 lakh at Shamshi, Rs 1-crore Lift Irrigation Scheme at Pirdi, car parking near Kala Kendra, Dhalpur constructed at a cost of Rs 122.21 lakh.PTI/PCL
