The Indian government is ascertaining reports of kidnapping of 11 Indians by pirates off the coast of Somalia.
According to media reports, pirates have seized a small boat and kidnapped its 11 Indian crew members off the coast of Somalia.
The attack on the small ship happened on Saturday as the vessel passed through the narrow channel between Yemen's Socotra island and the Somali coast, Graeme Gibbon Brooks, the CEO of the maritime firm Dryad Maritime was quoted as saying in the reports.
When asked, officials in the Ministry of External Affairs said the reports were being "ascertained".
