Great Eastern Shipping Q4 net dives 58% to Rs 58 crore

Great Eastern Shipping Company today reported a 57.5 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 58.2 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016.

The company had posted a net profit -- after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates -- at Rs 136.97 crore in the year-ago period, Great Eastern Shipping Company said in a BSE filing.

The total income increased to Rs 968.42 crore during the quarter, over Rs 902.87 crore in the January-March period of previous fiscal.

In a separate filing, the company said that its board has has given its nod to raise Rs 1,500 crore by issuance of non-convertible debentures on private placement basis during the year.
 

The company said in a statement that the board has declared and paid two interim dividends aggregating Rs 13.50 per equity share during the quarter.
