Gur prices remain firm on fresh buying

Gur prices firmed up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on buying by local parties and stockists.

Besides, a firming trend in sugar prices also influenced sentiment, traders said.

At Delhi, gur pedi, dhayya and shakkar moved up to Rs 2,500-2,600, Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 2,800-2,900 from previous close of Rs 2,450-2,500, Rs 2,600-2,700 and Rs 2,700-2,800 per quintal on local parties demand.

In Muzzfarnagar, raskat, chakku, khurpa and laddo also found stockists buying and finished higher at Rs 2,200-2,250, Rs 2,200-2,400, Rs 2,100-2,150 and Rs 2,300-2,350 as compared to previous levels of Rs 2,000-2,100,Rs 2,150-2,300, Rs 2,050-2,100 and Rs 2,250-2,300 per quintal respectively.
 

In line with overall firm trend, gur dhayya in Muradnagar edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,400-2,500, pedi Rs 2,500-2,600, dhayya Rs 2,700-2,800 and shakkar Rs 2,800-2,900.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,200-2,250, chakku Rs 2,200-2,400, khurpa Rs 2,100-2,150 and Ladoo Rs 2,300-2,350.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,200-2,250 and dhayya Rs 2,300-2,350.
