Haryana Finance and Revenue Minister Abhimanyu today informed this while presiding over the division level review meeting on computerisation of land records held at the mini-secretariat in Gurgaon, an official release said here.
Abhimanyu reviewed the progress of computerisation of land records in all six districts of Gurgaon Division and also asked the deputy commissioners about the hardships they faced.
He also sought their suggestions on how the work can be completed in a time-bound manner.
The Revenue Minister gave the target to all districts of the division to complete computerisation work and uploading land records by June 30.
He said he would again review the progress in the first week of July.
The task of feeding land records in computers and putting them online has been going on for the last 20-25 years but could not be achieved till now, he said.
Asked why they could not achieve the target, majority of the DCs blamed it on the fact that the number of 'Patwaris' (Revenue officials) was less.
On this, Abhimanyu said that 1,000 patwaris would be joining service soon, and, if required, sanction would be given for hiring more staff for completing the task.
