Addressing the joint session of Maharashtra legislature today, Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao announced that ruling BJP's election promise to scrap the LBT will be fulfilled.
He also cited the slogan 'minimum government, maximum governance' and said that right to delivery of government services legislation was on the cards.
In his address after Devendra Fadanvis-led government won the trust vote, the Governor promised a white paper on the economy, better policing for women's safety and action against culprits in the cases of violence against Dalits.

"The Local Body Tax will be cancelled after making an alternative arrangement shortly," he said.
LBT, which was to replace the octroi, was opposed strongly by the traders.
The government will issue a white paper on the financial position of the state, he said.
The government will institute 'Hutatma Tukaram Ombale Balveer Award' to felicitate the children who save lives of others by demonstrating bravery, he announced.
Special women squads and women police officers would be recruited to make public places safer for women and mobile phone technology will be used to prevent violence against women, he said.
Also, the government will make serious efforts to improve the low conviction rate, especially in the cases related to atrocities against scheduled castes and tribes, he added.
Among other things, police would be provided with best private legal support to achieve higher conviction rate and witness protection programme would be encouraged, Rao said.
