US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel has met his Israeli counterpart Moshe Ya'alon to discuss the ongoing talks with Iran on its nuclear program.
In the meeting held in Nova Scotia, Canada on the margins of the Halifax International Security Forum, Hagel reiterated the American commitment to Israeli defence and security.
"Their discussions touched upon Iran, the situation in Egypt, the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations, and the humanitarian impacts of the continuing violence in Syria," Pentagon spokesman Carl Woog said here yesterday.

The two also discussed ongoing cooperation to provide Israel with new, advanced capabilities, including the V-22 Osprey, he said.
This is the fourth time that Secretary Hagel and Minister Ya'alon have met in person this year.
