In an effort to maintain communal harmony in Bisada village, authorities have planned to develop a 'harmony park' where people of all religions will take part in tree plantation drive.

The 'harmony park' will be developed on 20 hectare land where over 30000 fruit bearing and useful trees will be planted.

"Total 1.10 lakh trees will be planted by people in the district. Harmony park will help in maintaining communal harmony as it will unite the communities," said District Magistrate N P Singh.

He directed the district officials to involve public representatives, representatives of RWAs, village pradhans, school children and other local residents in the drive.

"All officers have been directed to arrange the work force in their respective areas to complete the tree plantation work. Officials have been given the respective targets which they will have to achieve without fail," he said.

Forest Department has identified 12 locations in the district for tree plantation.

The tree plantation programme is scheduled to take place on July 11.

Bisada residents have welcomed the DM's move of the park and extended support.

"We will plant trees at the park and also maintain it," said Mohammad Aslam of Bisada village, which witnessed communal clashes recently.

"We will take all communities members with us for tree plantation and send out a message of communal harmony,"said Hardev Sharma, another resident.
