Haryana government has decided to provide exgratia of Rs 10 lakh and job to family member of police official killed during duty.
The decision in this regard has been taken by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana DGP S N Vashisth said today during a Police Martyrs' Day function at Police Lines, Panchkula, near here.
The state government has also made a provision to provide full salary till the age of retirement to family member or dependent of police officials killed in the line of duty, he said.

"Jobs would also be given to family member or dependent of the officials of fire services and magistrate, who died during such incident while assisting police," the Haryana DGP said.
On the death of a Dalit youth allegedly in police custody in Ambala district last week, he said prompt action has been taken against the accused, who have been arrested after registering a murder case against them.
Vashisth said a judicial inquiry by magistrate is in progress and full information has also been given to National Human Rights Commission.
Strict directions have been given to all police officers and officials that no person should be kept in illegal custody, the DGP said, adding that strict action would be taken against officers found involved in such incidents.
