Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma has been appointed as the member of Sub-Committee of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE).
The Committee will identify various reasons for non-enrolment of children in schools, their low attendance and also reasons contributing to school dropout, Sharma said today.
The Sub-Committee, under the Chairmanship of Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha, will submit its report to the Centre within a year.

Besides, it would suggest preventive measures that could be taken to stop children from dropping out of schools and develop strategies to help in re-engaging Out of School Children, he said.
In the 63rd meeting of the CABE chaired by Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani on August 19, it was decided to constitute a Sub-Committee of the CABE to devise pathway for re-engaging Out of the School Children.
The Committee would review current practices or interventions being followed in the states and Union territories regarding enrolment of children in schools and mainstreaming them in age appropriate classes and compile the best practices followed, he said.
Apart from this, the committee would review the impact of interventions made by the government like opening of Residential schools or hostels for children and Special training for age-appropriate enrolment of Out of School Children in special training centres, he said.
Sharma said that the committee would suggest strategies or interventions for Out of School Children which are relevant and connected to their lives with opportunities for decision making, enhancing their self esteem and creative self-expression.
"It would also suggest the kind of training teachers or educational bureaucracy or public representatives are required to undergo in order to effectively engage with Out of School Children," he said.
The Sub-Committee will hold consultations with all the State governments, UTs and stakeholders such as Ministries of Women and Child Development, Labour, Tribal Affairs, Social and Empowerment and Minority Affairs, the minister said.
