Haryana government has decided to launch a project for empowerment of rural women in the backward Mewat district of the state by providing them facilities like medical and legal aid, counselling and.
Poorna Shakti Kendra will be launched on pilot basis in collaboration with non-government organisation SMART, and the women and child development department will be the nodal agency for the project.
Women and Child Development Minister Geeta Bhukkal said here that as many as 10 panchayats of the district will be covered under the first phase of the project.

She said the Centre has approved the proposal for setting up of district convergence cum facilitation centre (DCFC), block convergence cum facilitation centre (BCFC) and village convergence cum facilitation centre (VCFC) for the project.
Bhukkal further said one-stop crisis centres (OSCC) will be set up in Faridabad and Gurgaon for providing facilities like medical and legal aid, police services and counselling to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
She said the government has appointed Protection-cum-Child Marriage Prohibition Officers at district level to implement the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
