In a bid to provide best facilities to tourists, the Haryana government has decided to spend Rs 22 crore during the current financial year for upgrading tourism complexes across the state.

This was said by Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism) Vijai Vardhan in a release issued here today.

Vardhan said the tourism department is in the process to start a light-and-sound show at Tilyar Lake complex in Rohtak.

"History of the state will be displayed in the show with special effects of lights. The show will be commissioned by the end of October this year," he said.

Vardhan said the tourism industry in Haryana has recorded a turnover of Rs 330 crore during 2013-14, which is Rs 15 crore more as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

There are a total 42 tourism complexes in the state at present and there is no proposal to shut down any of them, he said, adding that five or six inviable complexes were closed two years ago.
