Head cashier of nationalised bank convicted for fraud

A special CBI court has sentenced a head cashier of a nationalised bank to three years in prison for misappropriation of over Rs five lakh in the bank in Sikar district of Rajasthan.

A fine of Rs 7,000 was also slapped on Shrawan Kumar Swami by the court yesterday, according to a statement released by the probe agency.

Swami was posted as head cashier of State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur at a branch in Sikar district and had misappropriated Rs 5,49,550 from the bank.
