Computer peripherals and IT parts distributor Redington shut down its distribution centre for four days due to the record rainfall that flooded many low lying areas in Chennai and surrounding areas, the company said today.
"The unprecedented rainfall has severely affected the city, including its employees, distribution centres, service centres and offices of the company and subsidiaries", Redington said in a notification to the stock exchanges.
The company had to shut down its distribution centre at Gummudipoondi (near Chennai) from December 2 to 5 following the heavy rainfall that flooded its centre.

"Spare parts in the company's support services warehouse in Guindy were damaged and the company was assessing the loss", it said.
The company is closely monitoring the situation and hopes to return to normalcy soon, it said.
