A 25-year-old youth who was helping police take an accident victim to hospital died when a mini- truck rammed into a PCR van in north-east Delhi's Usmanpur area today.
A policeman was also injured in the incident.
According to police, a PCR call was made about an accident near Aqua hotel in New Usmanpur. After reaching the site, policemen sought to put the victim into the van to take him to hospital and asked a passerby, Rajvir, to help them.

As the victim was being put in the van, a mini-truck came and hit Rajvir and head constable Virender, said a senior police officer.
Both were rushed to a nearby hospital where Rajvir was declared dead by the doctors, he said.
Locals had chased the mini-truck and caught its driver, identified as one Santosh Kumar. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against him, the officer said.
