The BJP today asked the States to take action against the middlemen, who are allegedly involved in hoarding of pulses, to reign in its prices as the central government has already imported over 5,000 tonnes of lentils to tackle the situation.

"Action should be taken against hoarding, the Centre has already imported over 5000 tonnes of pulses to tackle the situation, the hoarding activities of some middlemen is however impacting [adversely] the prices and such activities must be stopped by States," Tamil Nadu BJP President Tamilisai Soundararajan told reporters here.

Earlier, BJP National Secretary H Raja said the opinion of all sections of society would be solicited in 100 locations across Tamil Nadu in the coming months to prepare election manifesto of the party.

Raja, who heads an 18-member party panel to prepare election manifesto for next year's Assembly election, said views would also be sought through interactions on social media.

"Such opinions and views would be used as inputs in formulating the election manifesto for next year's Assembly election," he said.
