Haryana Cooperation Minister Manish Kumar Grover today suspended the General Manager of the Hisar Cooperative Bank for not being absent in a meeting convened by him to review the bank's financial condition.
Grover convened a meeting to take stock of the situation following the demonetisation of high-value currency notes and to review the financial condition of the bank, an official release said here.
"Even after getting a message from the Cooperation Department deputy-registrar to attend the meeting the GM of the bank, Krishan Kumar Kundu did not attend it, even though he was present in the bank," the release said.
The minister took the action against Kundu because of the "indiscipline" showed by him, it said.
