After the devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir, people in the Valley are making a beeline at various repair shops with their automobiles and electronic appliances which have stopped working because of being submerged in water.
People in large numbers are rushing to mechanics for repairing their cars, two-wheelers and electronic appliances like generators and water pumps damaged by the flood waters.
"There is a lot of work these days as many cars and bikes have developed problems after being submerged in flood waters," said Umar Bhat, who runs a service centre for two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws in downtown Srinagar.

Bhat said most of the scooters and bikes have the same problem of water entering fuel tank.
"I have never seen such a huge rush of customers," he said.
Similar is the case with those repairing generators, water pumps and other electronic appliances.
"Most of the electronic appliances in the affected houses have been damaged. I am working overtime to meet the customer demand as there is a huge rush," Altaf Ahmad, whose has a shop in Khanyar, said.
Four-wheeler service centres are also seeing long queues of customers.
"The latest cars are fitted with computer processors which have been damaged by the waters," said an official at an authorised service centre of a car-manufacturing company.
He said the company has received 500 to 600 vehicles at each of its service centres.
"The vehicles have suffered huge damage as they were submerged in water for five to seven days," he added.
