Eminent theatre personality and legendary figure Sambhu Mitra's daughter Saoli Mitra rues how violence and attacks on weaker sections are on the rise despite we becoming materially advanced.
"We talk about the global village. We talk about the one global community. We study the preachings of Goutam Buddha and Mahatma in our curriculum.
"Yet, we are helpless on the face of rise in terrorism and bomb attacks. We can't even stop abuses and assaults. This is one dichotomy which we can't address," the ever popular 'Katha Amritasaman' play actor, based on the account of Draupadi in Mahabharata, said.

Saoli aired her views at the Theme-based musical presentation 'Peace' by Rag Anurag Music Research Academy of Vocalist Smriti Lala.
"From felicitating proud moms of achiever daughters in Ratnagarbha to being part of the peace-themed programme when beheading scenes of journalists on you tube are sending shivers down the spines of civilized society, we will always patronize any peace initiative, we are holding a bigger programme themed on the significance of art, songs and music in troubled times with prominent names in future," Rupak Saha of a prominent jewellery chain, said.
