Having found Bengali dishes the most diet-friendly, cricketer Manoj Tiwary never shies away from tucking into 'Ilish Bhapa.'
"Having been part of the city's social milieu for generations, we are more into Bengali cuisine at home and even outside - speciality restaurants and friend's homes," the prolific batter told PTI here.
Manoj recalls how he introduced friends from Delhi Daredevil IPL team to the "divinity of bhapa ilish", "Shukto", at speciality restaurants after match practice.

"Staying fit has nothing to do with gorging on your favourite delicacies," he said and rated Sukto, Paturi, Daab Chingri, Malai Curry as his other favourites.
"Being calorie conscious doesnot have much to do with shunning spicy food. You burn out to look trimmer but staying fit is also a state of mind," he says.
"It's difficult to cook up those granny's favurite delicious dishes like Aam Posto Bora, Chingri Pudina Curry, Doi Murgi, Daaber Torkari, Aamer Mishti Paturi. The ingredients are impossible to follow nowadays. We are happy to have sports personalities like Manoj and Ranabir Moitra having frequented our outlets," Debashis Ghosh of Oh Calcutta said.
He said to pull the non-Bengali population outside Kolkata, as well as the Indian diaspora visiting the homeland, the restaurant chain has introduced fusion dishes like 'Aam Ada Grilled Fish,' and 'Tarmuj Murgi' to tickle tastebuds not familiar with the smell of Bengali dishes.
