The Kamla Nehru zoo in Indore has readied a proposal to give six of its lions to Kuno-Palpur Wildlife Sanctuary in Sheopur.

"We are going send the proposal of six lions to top state wildlife officials. If we get the green light, we are ready to send two lionesses and four lions to Kuno-Palpur," Kamla Nehru zoo-incharge Uttam Yadav said.

Yadav said that the Indore-based zoo, run by the municipal corporation, was home to seven lions and five lionesses at presemt.

The state government had readied Kuno-Palpur sanctuary for Gir lions from Gujarat but the plan did not materialise.

Recently the MP Wildlife Board had decided to release tigers in Kuno-Palpur.
