The family members of an alleged Naxal who was injured in an encounter with police on August 25 today claimed he had no connection whatsoever with the ultras and was completely innocent.
According to police, Kamalsingh Hidami, a member of ARD (Area Rakshak Dal) of Naxals, was injured in a shoot-out between the rebels and the police in Murkundi forest area in the district.
Hidami is a resident of village Bonde in Korchi tehsil.

In a memorandum submitted to the district collector and the police, his wife and children said he had no connections with Naxals and was only a farmer/daily wager.
He was returning from Mayalghat in Korchi taluka where he had gone for construction work of one Kamensingh Parsa, the Police Patil of that village, when he was shot by the jawans of C-60 commando force and was declared a Naxal, the family members said.
He was later admitted to Gadchiroli General Hospital.
When contacted, superintendent of police Sandeep Patil said police were firm on their stand that he was involved in Naxal movement.
