Inter-state auto lifter held

Ajay Kumar, resident of Sector 9 Gurgaon in Haryana, was arrested yesterday at around 3 PM when police was carrying out checking at a police picket at Balbir Singh Marg.

"He was asked to show the documents of the motorcycle, he was riding, bearing registration number UP-20Z-4042. But he showed the registration certificate of the vehicle as UP-20Z-4240. When asked about the discrepancy, he failed to give a satisfactory answer. So he was arrested," V Renganathan, ACP West District said.

During interrogation, he confessed that he had stolen the motorcycle from Sector 5, Gurgaon.

He also confessed to lifting two more motorcycles from Paschim Vihar, the official said.
