A man, who tried to hug a woman passenger on a bus but was hit by her husband, allegedly caused the vehicle to plunge into a ditch after grabbing the steering wheel in east China, police said today.
Six persons were killed and over 30 others injured yesterday morning when a coach carrying 40 people plunged into a roadside ditch in Suzhou City in Anhui Province.
Survivors told police that just before the accident, a male passenger, Wen, attempted to embrace a woman passenger and was struck by her husband.

Some minutes later, Wen rushed to the driver, grabbed the steering wheel and caused the coach to crash, local police said.
The woman passenger was killed.
The suspect has been detained by police.
Further investigation is ongoing, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
