An ITBP jawan was today injured in an improvised explosive device blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district.

Officials said the incident occurred early today on the Krushnar-Gumiabeda jungle axis in the district when a patrol team of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was hit by a twin IED blast in which Constable M Nilesh sustained splinter injuries.

"Nilesh, of the 46th battalion of the paramilitary, was rushed to a nearby hospital and he is out of danger now. A suspected Naxal has also be held from near the blast area and handed over to local police," they said.

ITBP is deployed in the district to conduct anti-Maoist operations.
