The ongoing work at Tagore Hall and Abhinav Theatre would be completed by coming May and October, respectively, Jammu and Kashmir government said as it announced a timeframe for the renovation projects.
Replying to a question by NC member Devender Singh Rana in the Legislative Council today, J-K Minister for Housing and Culture, Raman Bhalla, said that the expected date of completion of Tagore Hall was May while Abhinav Theatre would be ready by October this year.
Talking about the Hall, the minister said that the civil work there has been almost completed with interior electrification, fire alarm and signage systems ready for installation.
As to Abhinav Theatre, along with the civil works, the other necessary systems have been installed, although the seating, stage, lights and sound system are yet to be arranged, he added.
Members Bashir Ahmad Magray, Naresh Gupta, GQ Pardesi and Jahangir Hussain Mir raised supplementaries in the matter.
