J&K govt establishes special migrant cell in Delhi

The Jammu & Kashmir government today ordered the setting up of a Special Cell for displaced Kashmiri Hindu Migrants (SCM) at the Resident Commission Office, in New Delhi, to coordinate on matters relating to migrants.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), upon the creation of the SCM, Dr Shafqat Khan was transferred and posted at the Resident Commission office in New Delhi and designated as the Joint Resident Commissioner.

Khan would head the SCM.

The government also ordered the posting of Ashu Kumari as the Under Secretary at the office of Resident Commission, New Delhi. It said other requisite staff for the SCM would be provided by the Principal Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi.
