J-K police sanctions Rs 4.58 lakh for high scoring wards of

The Jammu and Kashmir police has sanctioned a sum of Rs 4.58 lakh as special incentive for the wards of its personnel who have secured 80 per cent or more in the Class 12 examination this year.

A police spokesman said the sum has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund. The contributory fund has been created to encourage the talented school going children of police personnel.

"Director General of Police S P Vaid today sanctioned special reward of Rs 4,58000 in favour of 89 wards of serving police personnel, who have secured above 80 per cent marks in the annual examination of class 12th during the academic session 2016-17," the spokesman said.
 

Those awarded include 43 girls.

Thirteen students, securing above 90 per cent, have been provided Rs 6000 each, while those scoring bteween 80 and 90 per cent have been given Rs 5000 each, he added.
