"Government is exploring all possibilities to tap the vast hydle power potential of the state. About 3,000 MGW of power will be generated in the state in 12th Five Year Plan," Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather said today.

Taking about tourism in the state he said Chrar-e-Sharief and Pakherpora shrines in Budgam district of central Kashmir are being developed as major pilgrim destinations.

Work on Rs 24-crore Chrar-i-Sharief-Yusmarg-Phakherpora road project is in full swing and would be completed as early as possible, he said adding the road assumes much significance as tourists in large numbers flock to Yusmarg.

He said construction of Rs 26-crore magnificent Khankah complex at the famous shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din at Charar-i-Sharief is also nearing completion.

Rather said four hectares of prime land has been acquired for setting up a degree college at Chrar-e-Sharief, a long pending demand of the people.
