Jawan's body found near railway tracks in UP

The body of a 28 year-old Army jawan was recovered from near a railway track here this morning, police said.

The body of Balwant Singh of Kumaon Regiment, posted in Srinagar, was recovered from near the Fatehganj west gate on the Lucknow-Delhi railway line near Bareilly, Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Kumar said.

Singh, resident of Champawat in Uttarakhand, was returning to duty yesterday night after a leave, Kumar said, adding that the jawan may have fallen from the train under mysterious circumstances.

The body was sent for postmortem, the SSP said.
