Jaya orders irrigation facility in Krishnagiri District

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today ordered commencement of operations in completed irrigation projects that would bring water to 418.36 hectares in Krishnagiri District.

Surplus water from Krishnagiri dam will be let into 25 tanks through the new canal link network, works for which have been completed.

The water will be routed through Paleykuli lake to the 25 tanks. This would benefit 33.460 hectares in Pochampalli region in Krishnagiri District, an official release here said.

Similarly, water will be let into five tanks and a pond from the Viruppampatti lake, also in Krishnagiri District, benefitting 83.76 hectares. Work to construct a canal network to supply water has been completed here as well,it added.
