JE arrested for accepting bribe

A junior engineer was arrested today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 here.

UT vigilance department caught junior engineer of UT electricity department, Jitendra Prasad, while he was taking the bribe.

The engineer had demanded money in lieu of tampering seals of electricity meter installed at a shop of Gulshan Kumar in Manimajra area of Chandigarh, according to an official release here.
