Jennifer Lopez is an icon for me: Jenna Dewan Tatum

Jenna Dewan Tatum says she looks up to actress-singer Jennifer Lopez.

The 36-year-old actress, who is the host-mentor of dance reality TV show "World of Dance", says the "Shades of Blue" star inspired her as an artiste, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"For me growing up as a dancer and becoming an actress, Jennifer really was this icon in that world to me. And she was very passionate about having me be on the show.

"When she gets passionate, it's pretty hard to say no to Jennifer Lopez," says Jenna.

The "Step Up" actress adds she chose the show because the NBC competition series is "from dancers for dancers".
