Jewellery, cash worth lakhs stolen from doctor's residence

Unidentified men broke into the house of a doctor in Sector 15-A here and stole jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees, police said today.

The thieves took away Rs 5 lakh cash and jewellery from the house of Dr Omprakash Rakesh when he and his wife had gone to work yesterday, they said

In another incident, Asha Girdhar of Sector-8 has complained to the police that unidentified persons on a motorcycle snatched her bag yesterday.

Rs 9,000 in cash and a mobile phone was stolen, they said, adding that cases have been registered in both the incidents.
