Jharkhand to deposit Kendu collectors' wage in bank

Jharkhand government today proposed to adopt the policy of Madhya Pradesh to develop kendu leaf and deposit wages of kendu leaf collectors in Grameen Banks.

Issuing directions in this connection at a meeting with forest department officials, Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba also asked them to ensure that no middleman comes between kendu leaf collectors and contractors, an official release said here.

He said reasonable wages would be given to kendu leaf collectors.
