Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed officials to make alternative arrangements for supply of drinking water to Hyderabad and Nalgonda districts.
He gave the instruction in view of inadequate availability of water in the Krishna river.
Rao asked Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and officials to take steps for release of water to Hyderabad from Singur reservoir and from Nagarjuna Sagar to Nalgonda district, a release from his office said.
