Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today approved the proposal for construction of three underpasses at Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower, and IFFCO Chowk in order to ease the traffic jams at these intersections here.
Haryana PWD (B&R) Minister Rao Narbir Singh and MLA from Badshapur constituency informed that the commuters have to face traffic jams almost daily at these three intersections, which lie on a part of NH-8 passing through Gurgaon.
People of Gurgaon have been raising this demand before the political leaders for a long time.

In the meeting held today under the chairmanship of the chief minister at Chandigarh, the project of constructing underpasses at three intersections was approved.
According to Rao Narbir Singh, the project would cost Rs 779 crore and 25 per cent of the cost would be shared by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and 25 per cent by HUDA from EDC funds and rest of the 50 per cent would be met as a loan from NCR Planning Board.
It was also decided that the NHAI would execute the project and it would be ensured that no toll tax is levied against this project or any increase in existing toll is made on this account.
The meeting also decided to persuade NHAI to increase its share up to 50 per cent of the project cost on the pattern of Hero Honda Chowk Flyover instead of 25 per cent.
However, the project would be taken up in the meantime.
Rao Narbir Singh said that it would be ensured that there should not be any conflict with upcoming proposal of Metro Rail by DMRC or Rapid Rail Transit System with this project.
