Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that all members of different committees of Haryana Assembly should rise above party politics, and participate diligently and dedicatedly in committee meetings.
Speaking after inaugurating a one-day seminar on the "Importance of Committees of Haryana Vidhan Sabha" organized by the state Assembly here, he said, "All Committee members should rise above party politics and participate diligently and dedicatedly so as to give valuable suggestion for welfare and development of the state."
"This is true responsibility of public representatives in a democracy," he told the gathering comprising of the Speaker Kanwar Pal, Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala (INLD), former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda (Congress) besides all ministers and MLAs.

The Chief Minster said that holding such kind of seminar were very important for all elected representatives especially for those elected for the first time.
"Earlier also, a training camp for all legislators was organized on the initiative of the Speaker," he said.
He said that this is the second occasion that a seminar on the importance of committees of the state assembly is being organized.
"In depth discussion on any issue might not be held in assembly as desired, but comprehensive discussions on concerned aspects are possible in committee meetings," he added.
He said that there were 18 permanent committees of the state assembly on different subjects but Committee on Public Accounts, Committee on Public Undertakings, Committee on Estimates and Committee on welfare of Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Backward Classes are more important as these are selected by the House.
Members of the remaining committees are nominated by the Speaker.
While describing House committees as bridge between legislators, executives and people, the Chief Minister said that House serves for a fixed session period but committees were continuously functional and give suggestions to the government.
