Kidnapping of teenaged girl fake, says police

A teenaged girl, who was allegedly kidnapped from here, had eloped with a man whom she wanted to marry and the two have been detained in this connection, police said today.

The alleged abduction of the girl from Bilthara road yesterday was fake and action would be taken against those giving false information, they said.

Priyanka (19) was allegedly kidnapped from Bilthara road yesterday by some unidentified persons when she was returning from college.

Her family had alleged hand of neighbours in the abduction over an old rivalry after which three persons, including a woman, were detained.

Priyanka had willing gone with Ram Ashish, brother-in-law of her brother, and the duo were planning to get married, police said, adding that both have been detained, they said.
