Kishmish, Pistachio fall on low demand, higher supply

Kishmish and Pistachio prices softened declined in the wholesale dry-fruits market at national capital today following slackness in demand amid increased supply.

Elsewhere, other dry-fruits held steady on some buying support.

Marketmen said increased supply and slackness in demand at higher levels, mainly brought down the kishmish and pistachio prices.

Kishimish Kandhari local and special dropped by Rs.100 each to Rs.8,400-12,900 and 14,900-17,900 per quintal respectively.

Kishimish Indian yellow and green prices also remained lower by Rs.100 each at Rs.3,900-4,400 and Rs.4,900-9,900 per quintal.

Similarly, Pistachio, Irani, Hairati and Peshawari slipped by Rs.50 each to Rs.1150-1250, 1300-1400 and Rs.1,450-1,550 per quintal respectively.
 

The following were today's quotations (per 40 kg):

Almond (California) Rs 18,400 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,100-8,400; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,600-4,900; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 635-660 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-550 per kg.
