Women rights activist Ranjana Kumari today pitched for the passage of women's reservation bill, which proposes allotting 33 per cent of seats in Lok Sabha and state Assemblies to the fair sex, asserting that there is no "logical" reason behind the delay.
"We have fought for 20 years and we have created a generation who will fight for another 20 years. We request the government that the bill be presented in the Lok Sabha so that it can be passed soon. There is no logical reason behind putting it off," she said at an event here.
The women's reservation bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha in 2010 but it lapsed subsequently after the dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha.
