Lady constable attacked by husband

A lady constable suffered serious injuries when she was attacked by her husband at Memari in Burdwan district tonight, police said.

Ujala Mallick posted at the Memari police station was attacked by her husband Tanmoy Debnath with a sharp edged weapon at her home, Superintendent of Police of Burdwan S M H Meerza said.

Hearing Ujala's cries for help neighbours went to her house and caught hold of Tanmoy and rushed Ujala to Burdwan Medical College Hospital, the SP said.

Tanmoy has been arrested by police for attacking Ujala, Meerza added.
