Law student alleges harassment by classmate

A law student was allegedly harassed by her classmate, who is the nephew of a former MLA in the district.

The victim, resident of Palwal and pursuing her graduation in law from an institute at Sohna Road Alampur here, has filed a complaint alleging that her classmate, Punit, was stalking her for the last two days, police said.

The victim said the accused also physically misbehaved with her, they said.

When the woman objected to his behaviour, the accused said that she can do nothing against him as he is the nephew of Karan Singh Dalal, a former MLA of the area, police said.
 

The victim also alleged that the accused's father said that no one can take any action against Punit or his family, they said.

A case has been registered against Punit under relevant sections of the IPC, ACP Mamta Kharab said, adding, the accused would be nabbed soon.
