Lawyers on strike over assault of their colleague by police

High Court lawyers today went on an indefinite strike paralysing working of the judiciary in protest against assault of their colleague by police here.

They observed strike and held demonstration at the High Court complex in Janipur area against police over the assault of their colleague and demanded suspension of the erring police officials and impartial inquiry into it.

"We are on indefinite strike in protest against the incident. We demand suspension of the erring policemen," Jammu Bar Association President M K Bhardwaj told reporters.
