Lead prices drifted down by 0.03 per cent to Rs 145.45 per kg in futures trade Wednesday, falling for the second day, as speculators were indulged in trimming their holdings following subdued demand at spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for September shed 5 paise, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 145.15 per kg in business turnover of 401 lots.
However, the metal for October held steady at Rs 146.80 per kg in 8 lots.
Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from battery-makers in the physical market kept lead prices weak in futures trade.
