Lead futures weaken on sluggish demand, profit-booking

The metal for delivery in September fell 10 paise, or 0.07%, to Rs 135.45 per kg in a business volume of 177 lots

Lead prices shed 0.11% to Rs 136.15 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions amidst a weak trend in the spot markets due to subdued demand from battery-makers.
 
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in October eased by 15 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 136.15 per kg in a business turnover of one lot.
 
The metal for delivery in September fell 10 paise, or 0.07%, to Rs 135.45 per kg in a business volume of 177 lots.
 
Analysts said besides low demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels weighed on lead futures here.
