Light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Northern India today brought a little relief from the hot and humid conditions prevailing in the region.
In Delhi, though, it was a sweaty day today with partially overcast skies in the morning failing to bring any rain even as Delhiites grappled with above normal temperatures.
Although there was a wet beginning to the day, the national capital did not witness any subsequent showers during its course. The rainfall recorded over 24 hours till 8.30 AM today was 32.8mm, the MeT office said.

The maximum temperature in Delhi had risen by a notch above normal to settle at 34.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 26.7 degrees.
But it was the high humidity level of between 72 and 94 per cent which added to the discomfort for Delhiites.
Moderate to heavy rainfall and thundershowers, meanwhile, occurred in isolated areas of Uttar Pradesh where several rivers continued to flow above the danger mark.
Bareilly received 100mm rainfall while Katerniaghat (90mm), too, experienced handsome showers.
The forecast is for heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in western UP along with heavy rainfall in the rest of the state over the coming 48 hours.
Central Water Commission sources said that the Sharda and the Ghahghra rivers continued to flow above the danger mark at a number of places.
CWC sources added that Ganga was flowing close to the danger mark at Fatehgarh and Kanpur.
Rajasthan, too, reported monsoonal activity with light to moderate rainfall occurring at many places in the Udaipur division and at a few places the rest of the state.
Heavy rainfall also occurred at isolated areas of Bhilwara, Pratapgarh, Udaipur and Dungarpur districts.
Sabla recorded 130mm rainfall whereas Galiakot and Vallabh Nagar got 90mm each.
Several pockets of Punjab and Haryana also received light to moderate rainfall today which brought down temperatures and eased out humidity.
While Hisar in Haryana got 42mm rainfall, Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded 24.7mm. Ludhiana and Patiala received an identical 13.2mm rainfall.
