A special court here sentenced a man to ten years' rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor Dalit girl.
Special Judge (Atrocities) Vibhawari Joshi awarded ten-year rigorous imprisonment to Kishan Lal Tanwar for raping a 12-year-old girl when she went to the forest for grazing her domestic animals on June 28, 2011, special public prosecutor Girish Gupta said today.
The court, while announcing the sentence two days back, also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Tanwar.
After raping the victim at Sangi village in the district, the accused fled from there following which she narrated her ordeal to her parents.
Later, a case was registered against Tanwar and he was subsequently arrested.
