Companies which are involved in wholesale and retail trade internationally should make efforts to promote local products, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said.
Rao, who met a delegation of top officials of retail giant Walmart, appreciated the plans of companies like Walmart to expand business in Telangana, a release from his office said.
He, however, suggested that such companies can focus on promoting marketing of local products and giving employment to the local youth, it said.
Walmart officials said the company tries to market local produce up to 95 per cent, the release said.
