Lord Paul condoles death of President's wife

Lord Swraj Paul today paid tributes to Suvra Mukherjee, wife of President Pranab Mukherjee, describing her as a great artist and a great human being.

The NRI industrialist said that Mrs Mukherjee, who passed away this morning, was not only a wonderful exponent of Rabindra Sangeet but also a great lover of art.

"All those who know her were struck by her fine sense of art and craft. She was a tower of strength to President Mukherjee," Paul said.

The 74-year-old First Lady

had been ailing for some time.
